I love getting outdoors and appreciating the land! Here's me hiking the Arethusa Cirque Route.

One word at a time.

Born and raised where the mountains meet the prairies, I've always had a passion for telling stories and putting a pen to paper. Well, in our current age, I now share my stories and research through a keyboard.

I've always been a "go, go, go," getter, and in a world that constantly brings new information to the table--whether it is true or not--I found myself wanting to spread the word on meaningful topics and attempt to share stories through the art and skill of journalism.

My love for communicating and writing has led me down different paths during my academic career, but they all linked back to a common theme: How can I make the world a better place?

There's not always a simple answer, but I found I could do my part by writing and sharing new stories one word at a time.

One of my favourite events in Calgary is the annual Pride Parade. This led me to writing a front-page opinion story about the debate of trans youth and their identity expression in Alberta schools for The Reflector.

As an editor on The Reflector team, I had the privilege of attending the 2024 National College Media Convention in New Orleans. This experience levelled up my reporting, layout design and appreciation for print stories.

As a student journalist, I've written and provided multimedia stories as a seasonal writer to the Calgary Journal. One of my favourites is a multimedia piece outlining the intersection between student stress relief and rock climbing.

While a hop, skip and a jump away from journalism, I spend my spare time as a Certified Coach at KidStrong. On the blue floor, we promote excellence in physical literacy, confidence and education. Off the blue floor, you can find me capturing content as the Social Media Captain for our North Hill location!

My Goal

Fuelled by an interest and passion in environmental stewardship and activism, my mission and goal one day is to be an ecological reporter who focuses on Canadian climate activism, Indigenous perspectives and accountability from large corporations and the Canadian government.  From covering the ever-elusive Canadian carbon tax to local wildlife photography competitions, my drive to serve the environment and our planet through my writing and stories is sky high.
